Matcha whisks, known as chasen in Japanese, are handcrafted from a single piece of bamboo. Because of the association with the tea ceremony, there is a huge array of bamboo matcha whisks available, ranging in price and value! However, the basic concept varies only subtly, and the most are handcrafted from white bamboo, with 80, 100, or 120 prongs.

At CIBI, we’re attracted to the idea of creating something so elegant, flexible and functional from a single piece of bamboo. We think this essential tool for making matcha works nearly as well as delightful decorative piece.
